FNM were the shnizzle-my-dizzle (that's a good thing). They were the kings of prog rock of their time. Able to condense the music of early prog rock (songs which went on for ages, think 10-20mins) into listenable pieces of punchy music. Think small victory, midlife crisis, epic, we care a lot. And dont forget they 'lived' in a time when the media darlings were Guns N Roses (in their early days), (later) Nirvana, Pearl Jam and other so-called alternative cool boys/girls.
